HSI Mobilizes

Sherry Grant and Dr. Listriani leave for Phuket carrying medicine and supplies

 

Bali, Indonesia

A HSI advance team is in Phuket helping with animal rescues and doing an assessment of what follow up work is required.  The Phuket team is being headed by Sherry Grant, HSI's regional Director of HSI Asia.  Accompanying her is Dr. Putu Listriani Wistawan who is co-founder and Chief of Veterinary Medicine at the Bali Street Dog Foundation.  After making arrangements for follow up aid and support, the advanced team will then be heading to Sir Lanka.

 

A separate advance team is being sent to Aceh.  This team is headed by Dr. Wayan Mudiarda, a senior veterinarian with the Bali Street Dog Foundation.  Grant and Listriani will meet up with them after Sri Lanka. 

 

The Bali Street Dog Foundation is a HSI sponsored organization.

 

Each team has at least one veterinarian and is bring money and medical supplies.  In addition to helping with immediate care, the teams will also be assessing the longer term needs and logistics.
